FocusDriven Annouces New Board Member

Omaha, NE – FocusDriven – Advocates for Cell-Free Driving announced today that Amy Teipel Williams was elected to its Board of Directors. Williams has worked closely with the FocusDriven board since the organization’s inception in 2010, both in her role as manager of the National Safety Council’s advocacy efforts around cell phone distracted driving and as a volunteer.

 

“Amy’s support over the years has contributed greatly to our success, and we are happy to have her join our board,” said Rob Reynolds, Executive Director and founding Board Member of FocusDriven.


Williams is Manager of Teen and Distracted Driving Advocacy at the National Safety Council, the first organization to call for a nationwide ban on handheld and hands-free cell phone use by all motorists. She has been heavily involved with the issue since 2009.


She brings 15 years of marketing communications experience to FocusDriven. She received her Master’s in Integrated Marketing Communications from Roosevelt University and lives in Schaumburg, Ill. with her husband and two children.


FocusDriven – Advocates for Cell-Free Driving (focusdriven.org) is a nonprofit advocacy organization for victims of motor vehicle crashes involving drivers using cell phones. FocusDriven supports victims of cell phone distracted driving and families of victims. Its goal is to increase public awareness on the dangers of cell phone distracted driving by putting a human face on the disastrous impact of the behavior, in order to promote corresponding public policies, programs and personal responsibility.
